reflex touch therapy
Why not put your feet up and do yourself some good at the same time?!
Reflex Touch Therapy is a form of reflexology developed in the 1980s by Patricia Morrell, a highly gifted and respected practitioner and fellow of the ICM.
about reflexology
Reflexology is a form of healing based on working with areas on the foot which "reflect" the organs and structures of the body, which we thus call reflexes. The feet seem to act as a kind of service hatch for the body. No-one knows how, but it works.
What we call reflexology in the west begins with the work of Eunice Ingham in the USA in the 1930s, but similar systems are known in many cultures, as the wall painting from the physician's tomb shows!
about reflex touch therapy
Where different schools and practitioners of reflexology most differ is in the amount of pressure they use on the feet. Working on the principle that the body is most open to healing when it is comfortable and relaxed, Patricia Morrell decided never to use the kind of deep pressure that is sometimes advocated. As a result, the method she developed is so relaxing that most people fall asleep! It balances all the systems of the body and leaves one with a wonderful sense of well-being.
Clinical trials at hospitals in Cardiff concluded that patients having Morrell Reflexology went home 3-5 days earlier and needed less medication.
